Fields and Frames 3- Brainstorming ideas

I've decided I want to pursue the Fields and Frames unit further as I feel I can really experiment with ideas, and as I enjoyed our Maps and Journeys project so much and the fact that the project allowed me to experiment with ideas and come up with something interactive and creative made the Fields and Frames unit appeal to me. My first Idea is my most developed idea that I believe is the strongest.

Idea 1:

During our first lesson I really enjoyed working with film and it made me think how I could incorporate film into my work. Using film is new to me which is why i'm fascinated by how it works and how I can manipulate it.

My first thoughts were of a reel of images, much like a stop-motion of a situation, where the persons faces are scratched out, which links back to some of the first projects we did, where we worked with the idea of identity which I really enjoyed doing. The piece 'Night Sounding' is a brilliant example of manipulating film using real-life imagery and colour. As complex as this piece is, id like to incorporate two elements, such as the film and scratching/shaping or even colour and film.

Lis Rhodes' "Dresden Dynamo' I also really like because of the use of coloring and shapes on film, which makes for an interesting visual experience which becomes almost hypnotic after a short period of time, which fascinates me.The final piece would be screened using my final reel and a projector.



 


Other Ideas

Time lapse of a house. Each room in the house (living room, kitchen, garden, front porch, hallway) and make it a multi screen piece (4/5 screens??)

Time lapse of different environments. Busy city/quiet countryside, busy shop/empty shop. Stop frame animation & Real life video of important events/parts of someone's life for example passing your driving test, proposing to someone etc.
